I think the Marshall Isl Voodoo, refers to the fighter plane.

Yep. A 33c stamp featuring RF-101A/C Voodoo.

I am a bit surprised that Togo and Benin have "Voodoo" stamps.

Actually it's quite a big thing out there... I remember watching a BBC (I think) documentary series about a priest experimenting various world religions. The part about African voodoo (vodun) was pretty wild stuff.

So you watch a program on the Tele and that's it. Voodoo is "a big thing out there".

Whatever.

I've spent 22 years in West Africa - visited Togo, Ghana, Benin EACH at least 15 times from 1990-2007.

Oh, My wife is from Togo - we've been married 22 years. All our children were born in Africa - in what you call your "out there" zone.

Main stream AFRICANS do not like VOODOO.

It's the goofy European and American journalists and documentary people who go over there to do "Documentaries" that cause the problem.

You can always find anyone to say anything. And they do.

It's a difficult thing standing up for West African common people. They apparently run around naked, are drunk by noon and dance around fires at night to do voodoo rituals.

I don't think scb meant to be hurtful,
sure, we are a product of what the media feeds us,
but rather than perhaps feel resentful and say things like that,
show us, educate us, on how you see and feel about your marvelous country and people.
The majority of stamp collectors follow this hobby
to do just that, learn about other places and peoples.

You have an opportunity to change peoples views, in a nice way.

Real magic is observed when men treat each other with
respect, fellowship and goodwill.
It doesn't matter if you are right or wrong,
harmony should always be the aim.

No harm taken - in any directions I hope... I do agree with Rod that media does affect a lot on views of modern man.
