This is the postcard that my daughter Rebecca bought at the Berkshire stamp show today. (She showed it to me only when we got in the car to leave! I wasn't aware that she had bought anything or was even interested in anything there!)

A very nice portrait. Guessing early 1900's, pre-flapper era, but it appears to be unused. |

Wow, beautiful subject on the card! I love those kind ! Also, the ones of the stoic bride and groom ,and then the ones of the babies--so cute! Thanks so much for sharing! Gussyboy1 It makes you wonder what became of that beautiful young woman. |

What a beautiful, captivating period portrait photo. Your daughter has excellent taste; a great RPPC card -- postally used or not. My timeless "maiden" has a first name. This RPPC was sent from "Lucile" to a friend; she lived in Chicago in 1912. She was mailed from Chicago's Canal Street Station and bears a Times-Cummins Dial D- Killer-105s. The CANAL STATION Machine 2 was used from 1911 through 1913. |

t360 and Hal. your images are stunning. Not taking away from the beauty of the young women, but it seems that the photographers were artists of the first order. |

I spotted the stamp and cancel first - the stamp is intact and not missing a corner. I didn't notice the back until later. I would have loved to see this card before the silver nitrate began to deteriorate. The card was a $1.00. Looking at her: wondering who she was; what her life was; what her background was; what became of her; her life story -- the thoughts are priceless~! It would be nice to learn her name.
For the time being, she remains "face" down --her beauty protect from light, lightly mounted on a page; stored, protected and covered by an acid-free protector for the future. Perhaps, that's where she's looking too. |
