Hi All,
Boy do I feel stupid for asking this but, how do I quote someone from a previous post? I have been trying to figure this out since since I joined. What I've been doing is CCP and then add quotes around the comment. Do I have to have a certain amount of posts before I can quote a comment?

Donna

You can quote anybody's comment with no minimum posting requirements.

Simply copy what you want to quote. Then go to your post editing box, and in the row of icons in the header of the editing box, the 2nd icon from the right shows a paper with a red arrow. Click on that, and the code for quoting appears. You can then paste what you want to quote inside the code. Click preview to check whether you did it right.

G'day Donna,
LEFT click near the text you wish to copy
drag and select the text.
right click and select "copy"

go to the format line here in the post
click the button with the red arrow

two "quotes" appear
place the cursor between them and click paste...voila!

Like it says above, as you can see, thanks to the responses, I have accomplished a very simple feat. I never payed attention to the reply box icons, because I don't usually use them.

Thanks everyone.

Donna,

Thanks for asking the question! It's amazing how much I've been able to learn by simply reviewing the threads in the various forums.

see its not a silly question after all, you have helped other members as well.

When I joined CCF "about 4 years ago", I was a newbie to both the forum and to coin collecting and I was afraid that I might be asking silly questions. One member once replied to my questions to asure and encourage me to ask whatever I want that "a silly question is the one never asked"

Thanks for asking
