Just a point of interest.

These huge trains mainly operate in the North West of Western Australia, hauling iron ore from the mines to the ports. There are about 240 drivers employed to keep these things moving, earning about $120,000 each. They can earn more money with shifts and penalty rates. At the moment the mining companies are offering them $20,000 bonus if they stay for 2 years, because they are loosing drivers to higher paid positions elsewhere. I think I need to learn how to drive a train. LOL

The Haulpak (tipper) trucks are huge. They have a big diesel engine but this only supplies electric power to the 4 individual electric motors that drive each wheel. Mining companies mainly prefer women to drive these as they are more gentle on the trucks.

I saw a thing on Discovery or National Geographic or the History Channel (I guess where I hang out on TV), or somewhere like that about those gigantic semi-looking truck-trains. Those guys were driving their rigs like maniacs! I don't know how long they were, but I wouldn't want to meet head on with one of them on our lousy Louisiana roads!

it went down in to a creek and as it came back out the front of the
truck jumped off the ground and just kept going.
