Ok, it's still early but the Christmas stamps are creeping in.

Last year I gave some close friends a Christmas card with stamp inside inside an FDC envelope of Christmas stamps from a Nordic country, and they all loved them so I've decided to keep doing it. It's not that cheap but I think it's a unique gift for a few chosen friends.

At the same time, I've always been a sucker for Christmas: trees, lights, snow, sleigh riding, Santa, elves, presents, wreaths... I just can't get enough of them.

Well, here's a topic to post some of the Christmas stamps coming out this year.

I'll start with UK's Wallace and Gromit series coming out in November!

I like those Finnish ones! They sure outclass what the US is doing this year.

The Evergreens are nice but a bit plain for a christmas theme. The 2009 stamps were pretty nice with the classic border.

I love them too; especially the scene in The Wrong Trousers when Gromit is riding the train and laying the track in front of the locomotive

Cracks me up every time!

Here comes the Grinch. I just have a difficult time seeing Wallace and Gromit as representing Christmas. I guess it is just me.

The grinch is here too Rohumpy ! I am having a hard time with them also. But try telling that to the folk up in Wigan ! The town will be plastered with W & G I'm sure.

I wasn't even thinking about the connection of W&G to Christmas -- just that I enjoy the W&G films.

Glad you like them!

I'm still waiting for Sweden and Norway to release images of their Christmas stamps, which are also normally very beautiful.
In the meantime, I've found the Canadian Christmas stamps on Canada Post. Also beautiful.

Christmas stamps have always been a topical favorite. So many other countries have better looking stamps than the U.S.

The angel and the lute stamp for the U.S. is pretty in the traditional sense, but the evergreen stamps are just a little too commercial for me.....but that's not saying that I wouldn't get both of them to add to my Christmas collection.

Here's something to add to your 2010 Christmas Collection ... at least in the U.S. ... the Annual Santa Claus, Indiana postmark for 2010. Here's a link:
