Since Andrew's initial posting with the Wallace and Gromit stamps of Great Britain, I have been looking at the 1st and 2nd class stamps and have realised some subtle differences from previous years.

The two large stamps [1st and 2nd] have always been with a white edge to them until this year and the stamp design exactly the same.
If one looks closely at the stamps you will see that the positioning and lighting are not the same and the Robin is nowhere to be seen on the Postbox of the 1st class large ! [Poor Robin]
Unusual.

Also, and most importantly, Royal Mail made a big blunder !

See if you can find it.
A Christmas prezzy from me for the first correct answer.

Here are the two official postmarks for the W & G issue. [Neither are from Wigan]

Cute aren't they.

I received the stamps from Royal Mail and was really caught by surprise by the size of the stamps!
I'm not a great observer so I won't be able to answer the riddle!

Anyways, I've rounded up some more Christmas stamps. It's really getting me into the season. I've already ordered most sets to decorate my Christmas cards again this year!

Faroe Islands

The stamps represent Faroese Christmas Carols. Names are on the stamps (above the country - Foroyar).

Denmark

Another beauty.

Norway

Norway has gone with an embroideries theme: Reindeer on the left, a candle with a mistletoe on the right. Stamps are normal self-adhesive.

Switzerland

A diverse theme with a nice combo of blue and white to give that wintery touch.

I've already seen the 2 Winter / Christmas sets from Sweden (brochure I get in the mail), but they're not on the website yet. However, they are great, so keep your eyes open. Hopefully by the end of the week, they'll appear online.

I like those Finnish ones! They sure outclass what the US is doing this year.

Actually that's just the first part of Finnish Christmas issue this year. In addition there is joint-issue between Finland & Japan. It contains five domestic greeting rate (0.55€) stamps in miniature sheet:

I actually like the US evergreen stamps - and love the nickname "Forever Greens." I may stock up.
