My desire to collect the whole world is severely limited by my budget. The result is that I've decided that I could just find a few issues or sets from most of the countries that interest me and collect them in several forms. I prefer used so a set on and off covers just seems natural. Ever since I began collecting I have been interested in strange and far-away places........I guess Papua, New Guinea is just about as far away from Southeast Massachusetts as one can possibly get. To an eight year old in 1960 it was about as strange a place as I could imagine. So here's what I have so far.....the one pound issue on cover will be the real challenge.
That is a really neat and wonderful way to collect the stamps. I collected worldwide years ago but I never considered covers also. But the covers really make the stamps real somehow, they make them more personalized and interesting.
Strange in a way but the Canada Picture Postage stamps I am collecting now (or trying to limit myself to, with varying degrees of success) have become more interesting when I can get a cover with one used on it.
The Papua stamps are nice also. What year(s) where they issed in?
London......The last cover is addressed to (I think) Beighton, Vic (Victoria)........almost all of my collection is stored on Hagner pages.......they give me great flexibility as to how I want to arrange things.
Puzzler.......this set was issued in 1952.....the year I was born......the over print was issued in 1957.....one year before I started collecting.
