Wowie, that is how to research a stamp Bee See. I love it.
Wish I had some pics of the old stations on the Dominion Atlantic. |

What a beautiful Railway Station BeeSee, a delight for the eye. I just noticed it is a "step up" platform, we don't get those in Australia. |

Here's a French stamp of D'Orsay (not mine, taken from the web) The former train station is now an art gallery. If you ever get to Paris, I couldn't recommend it more! A stunning collection of impressionist and post impressionistic work in an equally stunning building. |

What a great topic. The colour of that McAdam Railway Station stamp (Canada Scott#1180) sure brightens up a thread. |

What a great train station Nethryk! fantastic post, stamp and photo. Now for something completely different... the very well known Tan-y-Bwlch station. Tan-y-Bwlch station is the principal intermediate passenger station on the narrow gauge Ffestiniog Railway, which was built in 1836 to carry dressed slate from Blaenau Ffestiniog to Porthmadog for export by sea. The station lies off the B4410 former turnpike road from Maentwrog to Llanfrothen and Beddgelert, which the railway crosses on a fine cast-iron skew bridge (made at Boston Lodge foundry in 1854 and surmounted by 'gothic' balustrades). |

I completely forgot about this topic...I put a tiny train next to a station on the train thread earlier, but it really should be here...an Algeria railway stamp: This is the station at Philippeville, pictured below: Philippeville is on the coast, not far from the border with Tunisia. |

I wish we had trains and train statins in the US. I wouold never fly if I had the choice of using a train. Someday maybe our government will realize the the benefit of trains again, I can always hope. Anything to do with a train on stamps I pick out when I am at a show or a bourse. As a result that was the start of a WW collection. Nick |

BeeSee....coincidentally I walked by the old Ottawa Union Station earlier today...it's now called the Confederation Center....used primarily for meetings etc...I remember taking the train from Montreal to Ottawa back in the spring of 1966..the train station was decommissioned in the summer of that year. |
