Three new Royal Mail slogan cancels for February (so far). The Valentine's Day slogan must rate as one of the worst devised by RM. Thankfully (hopefully) it was a one day event.

Don't forget this 1991 National Stamp Collecting Month Promotion:

What do you think ... with the pop culture image that Leonary Nimoy personified (as Mr. Spock) do you think he'll eventually get a stamp issued in his memory?

Working on the collection, this morning, I saw this for the first time, and immediately thought of 'The Tholian Web'. A 'fascinating' episode.

An early "Save the Redwoods" slogan from Eureka, Cal 1923 on a logging card. Must have been pure coincidence that this logging scene shows fir logs being skidded past several standing redwoods. Notice the red bark of the trees to the left of the steam donkey.

'save the redwoods' is not a common slogan, I have never seen one.

Oh Really? It is the only one I have, now that you mention it. I guess growing up in Mendocino county, living around logging forever, I've heard and read that slogan countless times.

Rated "very common" in the Payne catalog of slogan cancels. That said, it was used only at Eureka CA (from December 1919 to January 1925), so certainly not as ubiquitous as some of the savings bonds or other slogans that were used nationwide.
