Amassing runs, whilst difficult, is not cricket in its
entirety. That's why it is a beautiful game.
Can the English force a win?
Are they made of the "right stuff"?

It looks like Captain Cook not only discovered Australia.
Captain Cook also Discovered a weakness in Australia's cricket team!
We do not even have Deli Belly to help us! Maybe it will rain!

I must point out that the title of this thread is somewhat inaccurate, as (apart from Cook) England depends on South Africans for batting (and for wicketkeeping).

What a beautiful batting performance that was,
It is long time since I have seen such a straight bat
addressed to the ball.
A command performance, and Kevin deserves all the
accolades he receives.

I agree.
Pietersen has been out of form for so long and under the
cosh from just about everyone, especially the media.
Great to see him get some runs.
Brilliant !

and that is without what I consider a given for
the English attack Chris Tremlett.
How could he be left out ?

Looks like he'll be in now, with Broad out for the series.

Should win by a bigger margin next time eh!?

If the poms beat us on Western Australia's W.A.C.A. wicket.
Which is the hardest pitch to beat the Aussies on, as it is the fastest and bounciest track we have. General depression will sweep through the population in the land OZ!
