That 50c French postage due is a very high value, that is a way underpaid letter/parcel. Ye it looks like it has a postal cancel.

Regarding the France items. The first three look to be SG D279, D284 and D287 1881-1892. The rest are D297 1893-1941 onwards and the last is D349 1908-1925. Value is minimal ($5ish) although there are valuable items in the set eg 1882 20c Black £110 used but 30c £1.60.

The good thing about this type of thread is it forces you to go into your stock pages, boxes, etc. and find out what you have. Here is an Irish postage due. |

I have a few of these now. Stanley Gibbons price only mint pairs, used pairs and used singles. Can anyone let me know the ratio for the pricing of mint singles and used singles in this series from SACC, Scott, Michel etc. I'm also looking to purchase any used bilingual pairs if anyone has them to offer. |

This Australian postage due is a beauty. Purchased recently from Delcampe it features a Brisbane cancel, only 2400 of these stamps were issued to Queensland. |

This 1908 issue Australian postage due (shilling with stroke) is scarce with South Australian usage. These high values were on issue for around a year, replaced with a new design in 1909. |

This is a fairly straight forward example but it does illustrate how the use of a rubber stamp was replacing the actual postage due stamp quite early on. At least they actually did deliver the item rather than returning it to the sender and demanding another round of full postage as they do today. |
