I read in an old issue of The Posthorn, a newsletter devoted to Scandinavian philately, that one of the great rarities of Swedish stamps is Scott# 144, which is described as 1921 King Gustav 20 ore.

However, the illustration provided in the newsletter does not seem to be the right stamp. Despite considerable googling, I still haven't been able to work out which stamp was being referred to. (Perhaps the Scott numbers have changed since the newsletter was written.)

In any case, it must be very rare because I can't find an instance of anybody actually selling it!

Can anyone help?

From my old (1960) Scott, King Gustavus 20 ore came 3 types:
Perf 10 vert coil unwatermarked (Scott 141)
Perf 10 (sheet) Unwatermarked (Scott 143)
Perf 10 (sheet) Wmk 181 wavy lines (Scott 144) Scott only priced mint at $300.00 in 1960.
Sorry no current info.

Thanks, Russ!

I think at the time (1944) only 8 examples of this stamp were known.

It appears that several stamps from Sweden were printed on both watermarked and unwatermarked paper. I don't know if this was an error or just very low production on watermarked paper. If only 8 were known I would thick error.
