Nigeria publicized the 5th anniversary of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) on November 5, 1980 with the issuance of a four value set of stamps depicting a map of the member nations. The low value 5 k stamp (SG #417) also shows a satellite dish, rubber stamp, envelope and rotary dial telephone.

On September 25, 1978 Uruguay issued 50,000 of these stamps (SC #1011) to publicize the automatization of the country's national telephone network (ANTEL). Three rotary dials are shown.

Here is the low value 10 t stamp (SG #468, Sc #584) from Papua and New Guinea's September 7, 1983 set of 4 stamps commemorating the UN's "World Communications Year , 1983". Among other things, a white, rotary-dial telephone is shown. The rotary dial, operating on a pulse system, dominated the telephone market for the first 7 1/2 decades of the 20th century.

This March 2, 1976 stamp (Mi #2118) of the DDR commemorates the centenary of the telephone. Six million of these stamps were issued.

On July 23, 1959 Egypt (U.A.R.) issued a set of six, bi-colored, photogravure-printed, 10 milliemes stamps to commemorate the seventh anniversary of the revolution of July 23, 1952. All of these stamps have a transportation, or communication theme. Here is Scott #471 from the set.

This February 1, 1988 1.80 markka booklet pair (Facit #1040BB) of Finland shows a woman using a public telephone as a man mails a letter.

On August 31, 1980 Malaysia issued this set of three stamps (SG #s 212-4) to commemorate the Kuantan to Kuching Cable Project.
