This two pound "fees paid" stamp of British Telecom features various security features. There are elliptical perforations, various reflective metallic inks, die cutouts (tiny star and Saturn), and "invisible" fibers which react to UV light.

This June 18, 1943 wartime slogan cancel of Germany is a result of the relentless allied bombing campaign.

Slogan reads, "Refrain from making private calls on the telephone after air raids!"

8 pf. franking indicates local mailing weighing less than 20 grams. Worms 2 post office was at 5 Bahnhofstrasse. With old Germany, in very many cases, the "2" post office was near the main train station.

Telephones are shown on this stamp from Mexico's 1991 "Centenary of SCT" sheet of twenty-one, 1000 peso stamps of different designs. Sheet is rouletted with three vertical rows of seven stamps.

In 1985, Luxembourg issued a set of three, 10 franc "Anniversaries" stamps. One of the stamps (Sc #726) commemorates the centenary of telephone service in the country.

On March 8, 1978 New Zealand issued a set of four "Centenary" stamps. The 12c value (SG #1162) features a telephone.

Philipp Reis who In 1861, constructed the first make-and-break telephone, today called the Reis telephone.

On October 19, 2002 Luxembourg issued a set of two stamps on the theme of "The Post in 50 Years" featuring children's drawings. The "A" rate stamp (Sc #1102) shows a cellular phone orbiting the globe.

Here is Belgium's April 12, 1980 stamp commemorating 50th anniversary of RTT, the country's national telegraph and telephone company. In 1991, RTT (Regie des Telegraphes et Telephones) officially changed its name to Belgacom.
