This 5c official stamp (Sc #O20) of Spain is the low value from a set of 10 stamps issued in 1931 to commemorate the 3rd Pan American Postal Union Congress held in Madrid. Stamp depicts the Lion Fountain at the Alhambra in Granada.

From wikipedia, "Some research suggests that the 11th century lions of the Lion Fountain came from the house of the Jewish vizier Yusuf Ibn Nagreia (d. 1066). They are large for sculptures of animals in Islamic art."

Although the recess-printed imprint on the bottom of this stamp reads "1904", the un-overprinted "Sentinel Lion" definitive stamps of Paraguay were issued from 1905-10. Some values were reprinted in different colors and overprinted with the years "1908" and "1909". Shown here is the 1c value (Sc #181) from the "1909" overprint series.

On July 18, 1996 Germany issued this 100 + 50 (pf) semi-postal stamp (Mi #1867) to publicize the campaign to preserve tropical habitats. A leopard is depicted on the left side of the stamp.

Leopards and jaguars have a very similar appearance, but leopards lack a black spot in the center of the rosette markings on their coats.
