Quote: Eli's Looks like it could be a wet mess All postcards saved, along with the Brazil souvenir sheet and the Musee Armie sheet All stamps were damp, but separated easily, excepting some Russian heavy gummed, I know from experience trying to separate these lifts the stamp image, so popped into cold water for a few minutes, then into the famous Rod222 drying sandwich.....All's good Thanks CALKSTAMP and LAO PHIL ! The dining table is covered in 1000's of stamps shall leave overnight to dry completely. |

Hi Gilles, It was just "tongue in cheek" It is my FREE drying book hack
I make a sandwich of 1 sheet of clean archival paper, on that I place 1 x A4 "Freezer Bag" Place damp stamps face up, (after patted dry on clean cloth) Another sheet of archival paper.
Place the sandwich in an appropriate second hand book size (mine 30 year old "baby care book") Place a weight on top.
All the 100's came out this morning, slid off the freezer bag in pristine condition, and flat as a Halibut. No stamp curling, delicate teeth preserved.
It is always a delight at the end result. Used for 20 years or so.
Stamps guaranteed not to stick to Freezer bag, it can handle stamps with gum (but not self adhesives)

Hi Rod,
Sorry for that, don't know the reason since it is summer in Israel, no rain since April. But I glad you rescued most of the items.
Seems I have no luck. Last time I sent many stamps on paper as a giveaway to US, the winner received empty cover, all stamps were stolen. |

Quote: Seems I have no luck. Absolutely not your fault Eli ! All's good. My Postmaster apologised, too, but as I said to him, in 20 years of Postal service, I can handle two hiccups. (I once had a stamp package sodden with milk) The wet would have occurred in Australia, probably Sydney. Thanks for such a wide range of fascinating material, loved it ! |

Haha, Just realized that I received a package from Partime about 10 days or so ago. Seems someone at my house brought the mail in (very rare) and placed it on my desk (unique). I then covered it up with a pile of other stamp related stuff (common) and never saw it. Anyway, it was a folder containing stamps from the US, UN, and Sweden from the Collecting Stamps issues of 1986 at Ameripex. He also included 5 presentation folders of Swiss stamps from 1968 or 69. Very nice. Thank you Stephen. |

Rod I know exactly what you are speaking of. After I sealed your envelope, I found more cinderellas on the sorting table so I will assemble more things for you in the near future. Dianne |
