I am surprised that this hasn't hit the topic. Not in the field but on the factory floor from the Canadian WWII era definitive issue.

Here is an image of an overprinted airmail stamp depicting a battle scene featuring artillery, designed and engraved by Claude Andréotto, and issued by Benin (formerly Dahomey) on July 4, 1976 in celebration of the USA's bicentennial, Scott No. C248.

Here is an image of a stamp depicting Turkish field artillery in action at Sudd ul Bahr in 1915, during the Battle of Gallipoli, printed by typography, and issued by Turkey in 1916, Scott No. 420. Note: The principal weapon depicted on the stamp appears to be a German-made Krupp 7.5 cm Model 1903 howitzer (photo), but I am certainly no expert on guns.

Dover Fort, St. Peter Parish, engraved and printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co., Ltd., and issued for use in Barbados on April 13, 1953, Scott No. 235. Note: The Barbados National Cannon Collection, numbering some 400 guns, is the largest collection of 17th century English iron guns in the world.

Here are images of the two stamps in a set depicting antique cannons, designed by Norwegian artist Fredrik Matheson (1908-1999), printed by lithography, and issued by Norway on May 22, 1985, Scott Nos. 858 & 859, Facit Nos. 956 & 957.

Nelson's Dockyard is a cultural heritage site and marina in English Harbour, Antigua. It was named for British admiral and national hero Horatio Nelson, 1st Viscount Nelson, KB (1758-1805), who lived in the Dockyard from 1784 through 1787. Here are images of the two stamps in a set depicting the Dockyard, with an inset portrait of Lord Nelson, engraved and printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co., Ltd., and issued for use in Antigua on November 14, 1962 to publicize the restoration of the Dockyard, Scott Nos. 127 & 128.

Here are images of the five stamps in a set depicting historic cannons, designed by Czech artist Vladimir Kovarik, combined engraved by Josef Hercík and photogravure, and issued by Czechoslovakia on August 31, 1970, Scott Nos. 1692-96.

General Jaroslaw Dabrowski. Except that it isn't.

The portrait is of Henry Dabrowski, pianist & composer.
