The 6c values of Norfolk Island's 1971 set commemorating the death centenary of John Coleridge Patteson shows a Bible open to Acts chapter 7. Patteson was the first Anglican bishop of Meslanesia. He died a martyr, being killed by tribesmen in the Solomon Islands. His death reflects that of early Christian martyr Stephen, who was stoned by the Sanhedrin as described in Acts 7.

Two stamps of Bolivia's 2007 set of 6 honoring the golden (50th) anniversary of CEFILCO (Centro Filatelico Cochabamba/ Cochabamba Philatelic Center) are book related.

The .50 Bolivianos stamps shows various magazines related to Bolivian philately. The inscription reads, "Educational campaigns encourage young people to practice philately." The 2.50 Bs. stamp depicts a 1999 CEFILCO Catalog of the Stamps of Bolivia and an older Bolivian stamp showing "Simon Martinic founder of the CEFILCO catalog."
