Uruguay cattle stamp. Looks like the cancel is bits of turf thrown up by the passing herd.

While I don't have the $1 "Cattle in the Storm" stamp, I do have the 8 cent "Cow in the Pasture." I'd be more than happy to trade. |

Finches-- Nice engraving. Would have loved to have seen the name printed underneath. |

I'm waiting for someone to post the "cattle in the storm" stamp before I post the link to the "Ghost Riders in the Sky" and "Riders in the Storm" thread (remember Frankie Lane, Tex Ritter, the Doors, etc.). |

..came under high criticism when released, (by a politician) but supported by major artists and designers. I think it is a great stamp. |

Rod222, I'm surprised you have kept that article, probably scarcer than dearer White paper 5/- cattle which sold for approx' 7x the cream paper stamp issue 30 years ago. The stamp was issued in 1961, 20 years later the white paper stamp sold for approx' $220. |

Experienced stamps need a home too. I'd rather have an example that is imperfect than no example. I collect for enjoyment, not investment. APS Member #223433 Postmark Collectors Club Member #6333 Meter Stamp Society Member #1409 |

Always thought the Scottish Highland Cattle needed a shave though. They had a few near where I used live in Isleworth at the Syon Park grounds.
