It is from a sheet of international standard weight stamps that depicts the effect of a kaleidoscope.
The why is simple: artistic, there is no other reason. |

There's also a sheet of stamps along with souvenir sheets issued by Bangladesh in 2017 of the 1971 Pakistan War Crimes against Bangladesh. I cannot post the stamps here - they are just that gruesome, graphic and distressing. Just Google search "Bangladesh War Crime Stamps" if you're curious and have a strong stomach. I cannot imagine using these stamps for postage. |

Good one Nells250! The Dutch are always coming up with creative and interesting designs.
Reminds me of the 2002 movie Goldmember, re: Dr. Evil's insulting remark to Johann van der Smut, a.k.a. Goldmember. |

I think this is a still from a movie, but what is the plot? And why is it stamp worthy? |

CASEY - I was curious and searched for an actual still to match that stamp... I had never heard of Martine Carol, and never did find that view. Looks like she was one of those sexy types! ;-) |

As far as I can figure out, this is a semi-official airmail stamp for flights out of a flower show in Leipzig in 1912. |

Interesting that catalogues, collectors and album makers all us the 50pfg value in the border as a point of reference and not the picture, which is almost always shown on its side.
A 110 year old lay out issue still causing problems in 2022.
Above is personal opinion. |
