philb - No thanks! I have a strong aversion to slavery.

Wow! just finished watching Nureyev's ballet
"Don Quixote", not a ballet man myself, but this was a WOW.

The Ballerina opposite was stunning, anyone know who she was?
I think I'll get the DVD.

If you were watching it on the ABC this afternoon, it was Lucette Aldous who danced the role of Kitri. Born in New Zealand, and now lives in Perth, WA.

Clavileño the Swift is a fictional wooden horse, notable in both European and Near Eastern folklore. In the Part Two of Don Quixote's adventures, Don Quixote and Sancho Panza are blindfolded and tricked into believing they have flown Clavileño into the sky, controlling the horse with a peg in its head. Here is an image of an engraved airmail stamp illustrating this imaginary scene, and issued by Spain on October 9, 1947, along with the two commemorative stamps posted above last September, for Stamp Day, Scott No. C122, Edifil No. 1014.
