Bust of Queen Nefertiti, printed by photogravure, and issued by Egypt on October 15, 1956 to publicize International Museum Week, Scott No. 387, plus a photo of the painted stucco-coated limestone bust of Nefertiti, the Great Royal Wife of the Egyptian Pharaoh Akhenaten, which is believed to have been crafted in 1345 B.C. by the sculptor Thutmose.

And another of my favourite sets, the Aviation congress issue from 1933, a key set for any Egyptian collector, and it has a Zeppelin!

Here is an image of a stamp depicting an Egyptian mermaid holding a bouquet of lotus flowers, an African sacred ibis (Threskiornis aethiopicus), and the Nile River, printed by lithography, and issued by Egypt on December 12, 1998 to commemorate "The Day of the Nile Inundation," Scott No. 1689, plus an image of a mosaic of an Egyptian woman holding a lotus. Note: Ancient Egyptians believed that the Nile flooded every year because of Isis's tears of sorrow for her dead husband, Osiris.

Here are images of the three similar airmail stamps in a set depicting a relief sculpture of the Egyptian goddess Isis, the Temple at Philae, and Trajan's Kiosk, designed and engraved by French artist Pierre Béquet (1932-2012), and issued by Mauritania on May 8, 1964 to publicize UNESCO's world campaign to save historic monuments in Nubia, Scott Nos. C32-C34.

Here is an image of a stamp depicting an allegorical figure of "Education" standing beside an Egyptian pharaoh statue, and, superimposed upon the silhouette of the main building of Cairo University in Giza, the university's emblem: a picture of Thoth, the ancient Egyptian god of writing, knowledge and wisdom, printed by photogravure, and issued by Egypt (UAR) on December 21, 1958 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the university, Scott No. 459.
