I don't collect fair related items, but some of you may be interested in this ebay auction I just stumbled onto.
1903 St Louis Worlds Fair poster stamp.
Check it out.

jamesw,

Nice label, I have not seen that one before. $9.00 is a bit steep for a label though.

I thought you might like to see this stuff. They are workingmen passes for the 1893 Columbian exposition in Chicago. I put the auction listing at the bottom but the asking price is waay out there in my opinion. They are really neat though. Looks like they are pinned right to that piece of scrapbook paper. -Jeff

Here is the Auction.

Thanks for the heads up. I've been busy for the last few weeks on a new contract in Gainesville, FL and haven't been her or ebay for several weeks. I noticed that each of those tickets were pinned through a punched hole so I don't think there is much damage to the ticket stubs. But, like you said, way too much for what they are in my opinion. However, someone with money to burn may jump on it.

I am interested in this type of material for the Centennial and Sesquicentennial held in Philadelphia. I also have a set of tickets for the Columbian Exposition.

Strange thing is....the envelopes that held these tickets are very difficult to find in good condition. Mine is a bit ragged, but still complete.

I don't believe I have ever seen the envelope before? Got a pic? I'm still working on Handel and that darned Native American "Indian"! I still need a decent Columbus too come to think of it.

There's one on ebay now, Item number: 110797438951, buy it now for $80.00. Considering its age, its in OK condition and they are harder to find.

Or, you can get the entire set of "A" tickets, with the envelope for $350.00 with ebay item number 250960211079.

NOTE: Neither of these are mine, I just looked them up on ebay and found 2 envelopes...

ha I was just looking at those on eBay a moment ago and seems like too much to ask for a beat up old envelope. not for me but if I would run into a super deal of all the tix and envelopes for a half decent price I'd probably grab it. Thank you Art for the help.

I have all the main tickets and a few others but not the envelope. I would like to get one and would be willing to part with a few buck to get one. Not $80.00 for one in that condition. I might spend more than I should just to finish up that area.

Have a pic or scan to look at? I'm pretty sure there weren't stamps (postage stamps) issued for this event but I do know of Cinderellas and poster stamps for the Lewis & Clark Expo.
