Jilin meteoroid
  
The Jilin meteoroid breaking up in the atmosphere on March 8, 1976 near China town Jilin.
It was broken in several pieces. The biggest one weighed 1.77 tons and is the largest single fragment of stony meteorite ever found.
The area over which the meteorites scattered on landing measured around 500 square kilometers. |

The micrometeorites of Cape Prud'homme, Antarctica
In 1999 dust-sized micrometeorites have been collected at Cape Prud'homme located opposite the Station Dumont d'Urville.
This is the first time that a basaltic micrometeorite has ever been identified. |
