Actually, the Angel, stands at the top of Vendrell's chucrch belfry and it's an icone of the town. On this cinderella, you can see the replacement, by a US Navy helicopter, of the angel, after restoration. The text, is written just in Spanish, English and French. Our own language, Catalan, was banned.  |

Most likely, as the US Navy 6th fleet were, by then, often visiting the nearby harbours of Tarragona and Barcelona. Thank you for the information. |

From the catalog shown by Rod: this mini-sheet was issued on February 24th, 1984 by Barcelona's Stamp Dealers' Gild, as a part of a 50 mini-sheet series (issued between 1979 and 1985) showing Catalonia's history. The face value is in "pesseta" (Catalan) or "peseta" (in Spanish) our pre-euro currency. 1€= 166.87 pta. Text, are written in Catalan and show XIX century Catalonia's facts and people. |
