For some reason, the Mulready cover from the 1940, 27th PCGB at Bournemouth didn't upload either, so here it is:

Thank you all for the kind comments. I still have some way to go and a number of things to acquire yet! I made an error for 1940. The cover I posted as being for the 1940 PCGB event was actually issued for the Adhesive Postage Stamp Centenary Exhibition, also held at Bournemouth, with its own special CDS for 6th to 11th May. The PCGB cover for that year depicted royal portraits. Chris Wren

To crwhb - Re: Stamps issued to commemorate the twenty-third Philatelic Congress of Great Britain Paignton June 9th-12th, 1936. Please see image below, the three stamps each have the phrase at their footing - Torbay Printing Works Paignton. Do you recommend anyone who could value these stamps or give an indication of their rarity given the stamps are joined together?, the three I have are not mint condition. Thanks for your notes I found them informative and interesting, looking to know more about these if you have any further info. Regards Spiro.

Dear Spiro, To be honest, as singles or small parts of the sheets of 12 that were issued, these Congress labels are not valuable and they are not rare items. If you check them out on eBay, you will often see similar pieces offered; the damage that this strip has suffered will not help the commercial interest. They were issued in a set of four different coloured sheets so I usually try to acquire the full sheet set when I buy them. Chris Wren

Bumping this much older thread. I found these two items at the last stamp show and thought I'd post. They are the same ones shown on the first page of this thread, for the 1940 Adhesive Postage Stamp Centenary Exhibition. A torn corner on one, and a dimple on the queen on the other, but otherwise in excellent condition.
