I'm so new to stamps, I've read and studied the Scott's specialized classics catalogue and still thought I could just count the holes I didn't realize that a perforation gauge is mandatory for stamp collectors. I don't think many young ladies are stamp collectors so maybe that's part if the reason for my ignorance. This hobby/passion is so complex and confusing! I thought my recently inherited Franklin was rare because its a rotary press, 11 (I think) with a hand stamped precancel. If I had analyzed it correctly I thought it could be a gem. I now realize my optimism was ignorance. Still learning... I appreciate your help! I'm sure I'll have more questions (after I get a gauge)
