Quote: I'd have to give extra credit for staying in the front of the book. Back of the book is just filled with layups: What does this mean? What is a layup? I had a few but not in regard to stamps... ....and I am in the back of the bus! Triggersmob, thank you for showing your stamps. They are like the first posting, the original thought. Thanks for the link. It helps me to find what I am looking for in my albums and stockbooks and all the boxes with loose stamps. |

I was saying that it is pretty easy to find stamps that fit your description if you are looking for postage-due stamps and other back of the book issues. It is quite common. (A layup is a basketball reference for an easy shot...practically unmissable.)
With regular postage (front of the book stuff), it would be less common to find several simultaneous issues with the same design and color but different values, because it would hamper quick verification of the proper postage. And back in the classic era, there were international efforts through the UPU to assign different colors to different rates, making it even less likely to find same design, same color, different values.
I don't want to discourage anyone from putting up scans of stamps...far from it. Everyone likes to look at stamps. I just think extra credit is due for finding regular postage stamps that fit this criteria. |

Does that make me a good boy ? I haven't posted any BoB yet ! Triggersmob, I don't think any of your items would count as they are inscribed for a different country, not just value change. Sorry ! Londonbus1 |

Hello Londonbus, here is the first entry. same stamp, different value, different country but same color. So I think triggersmob would qualify. We just simplified and took the different country out. Thanks, Cjd for your explanation. It looks like no basketball season this year. |

I'm a bit confused now as to what qualifies Have we opened up the thread to joint issues ? There are so many of them. But it's OK too. Quote: The post from Saarland would not generally qualify, as a different country's name appears on the stamp, so it's not the "same stamp". If you do want it to qualify, then you would have to open up the thread to joint issues from different countries, which would always account for denominational differences.
Likewise, the second post on this page, showing stamps with a mechanical denomination imprint would not qualify, as anyone would have been able to make them for virtually any denomination.
The third and fifth sets of stamps shown on this page are of different colors (either the color of the stamp or the color of the denomination), so as referred to earlier, the color variations would not qualify.
What do you think fifia ? It's your call. Londonbus1....hates calling ! |

Quote: What do you think fifia ? It's your call. Back when wt1 and I decided on that solution below. Quote: "Same stamp, same country, SAME COLOR, different value." I would say we do (hope wt1 agrees): "Same stamp, same/different country, same color, different value.....which would qualify the Saarland stamp and the two Australia stamps... and maybe more different countries will surface. |

fifia,
I think including joint issues in this ongoing and interesting topic would open a big can [of worms]. There are many hundreds of them, maybe even thousands. It would take the scarcity off the thread.
What do you think? |

Good morning... Londonbus1, advise taken. We stay as it is. It does make more sense. Thanks for your support. I will be flying low the next two days, I am chasing a turkey! See you soon. Happy Thanksgiving! |
