This May 9, 1953 20c stamp (Sc #262) of Suriname is from the 1953-4 "Native Life and Fauna" pictorial definitive series of 1953-4. Stamp depicts a man poling his dugout canoe through coastal shallows.

Postmark is MOENGO, an area of bauxite mining.

On April 28, 2004 Finland issued its EUROPA set as a horizontally se-tenant pair of holiday-themed, 65c values in a minisheet of ten (2 x 5) stamps. One of these stamps shows a family enjoying an outing in a rowboat.

Here is an August 11, 2005 55c value (Mi #2481) of Germany issued as a a part of its Postal Workers series. Stamp depicts a mailman in a small boat making deliveries and pickups in the Spreewald area. The flat-bottomed and square-bowed boat is known as a punt, and the pushing/poling action the postman is using to move through the shallow water is called punting.

Spreewald is just south of Berlin. It is a lowland with a maze of canals.

On July 1, 1997 Netherlands issued a two-stamp 'National Promotion' set. The 80c value (Sc #967) of this set depicts children with a rowboat.

Here is the '1st letter rate' value (SG #2163) from Great Britain's September 3, 2000 Millennium Projects 9th series with a 'Mind and Matter' theme. Stamp depicts "Gathering Water Lilies on Broads (Norfolk and Norwich Project)".

This September 1, 1993 43c value (Sc #1493) of Canada is from the 4th series (4 stamps/series) of "Canadian Folklore" stamps. The 4th series features folk songs, and this stamp shows a Newfoundland ditty. A boatbuilder and his "work in progress" are depicted.

On December 31, 1999 Malaysia issued ten 30 sen stamps printed as a se-tenant block (5 x 2) as its "New Millennium - first issue" set. The theme of the set is "Land and History". The stamp (SG #838) from the set shown here depicts palm trees and a man in a small, traditional Malay boat with a single square sail.
