Great Britain Gipsy Moth IV July 24, 1967 The stamp commemorates Sir Francis Chichester's World Voyage. Sir Francis Charles Chichester KBE (1901 – 1972), aviator and sailor, was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for becoming the first person to sail single-handed around the world by the clipper route, between August 27, 1966 and May 28, 1967.
