On February 1, 2022 the USA issued two Butterfly Gardens coil stamps. These are nonprofit rate (5c) values prepared in rolls of 3000 and 10000. Left stamp shows scabiosas, or pincushion flowers and right stamp features cosmos.

The National flower of Laos is the The Frangipane, called in Laos Dork Champa. It consists of four colors: red, red-white, yellow and yellow-white. The Frangipane's tree has many branches with green thick leaves measuring 20-25 cm long. The Frangipanes trees can be found all over Laos, especially around temples and shrines hence, one of the tree names is "Pagoda Tree".

Laos issued many stamps depicting its national flower. here are several together with Thailand stamps:

Here is the "1st" value (domestic letter rate) stamp (SG #2157) from Great Britain's August 1, 2000 Millennium Projects - 8th series, set of four "Tree and Leaf" stamps. Stamp shows a sunflower representing the "Eden" reclamation project at St. Austell.

This March 14, 2022 International, first class 1 oz. rate ($1.30 on issue date) of the USA depicts a flower known as African daisy.

From American Philatelist May 2022 page 490, "Native to Southern Africa, the flower shown is from the Osteopermum genus and are widely available from U.S.nurseries."

A set of 16 definitive stamps was issued for use in the Gilbert Islands (Kiribati) in 1976. Three of the stamps depicting local flowers: Hibiscus, Frangipani (Plumeria obtusa) and Flamboyat Tree (Delonix regia):

Lotus flower (Nelumbo nucifera), issued by Laos on August 12, 2011. Issued in special sheet:


The lotus flower is a well known Buddhist symbol. It symbolizes complete purification of body, speech and mind. The flowers symbolize purity and enlightenment and the stem stands for the practice of Buddhist teaching which gives rise to purity of mind of the person. This stamp, issued by Laos on February 21, 1967, shows Buddha holding a lotus flower, Wood carvings from Wat Visoun, Luang Prabang, Laos:
