Posting two sets of stamps from Germany. The first is a celebration of three composers who had major anniversaries in 1935. J. S. Bach and G. F. Handel who celebrated their 250th birth anniversary that year and the 350th birth anniversary of Heinrich Schutz. The second set is from 50 years later, when East Germany celebrated the same 3 composers once again on the 300th and 400th anniversaries of their births.
Another FDC, this one coming from West Germany in 1968 featuring Richard Wagner and his opera Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg. The stamp is Scott Number DE 987 and the FDC is dated June 21, 1968. Also of note is the wonderful fancy cancel featuring the opera house at Bayreuth.
