They are lovely.
Thanks for making my breakfast go down easier.

It pays not to read SCF while eating and drinking. Now it's happened twice today.

Beautiful.

Cheers Lb1
Yes, they are arn't they.
From a lot I purchased from Revenuecollector here at SCF,
They will be mounted properly and the collection willed
to the west australian philatelic society
so hopefully they will survive another 100 years
for others to appreciate.
Maybe SCF will last 100 years too !

Your next to last scan (McKinley Stamp Club, 1940) has reference in the lower left corner as "House of Farnum, Inc.". In the event you don't know it already, they were a famous US cachetmaker that serviced many US First Day Covers through the years. Here's a brief thumbnail history of them. Given that they started their service in 1936, the 1940 McKinley Stamp Club label must be one of their earlier works.

Quote:
House of Farnam is the very oldest continuously produced cachet, founded by Dusty Farnam and his wife, Vera, in Cleveland, Ohio on May 9, 1936. The business was sold to John Halliday of Whittier, California in the late 1970s; then Artmaster assume production of Farnam covers in 1988. House of Farnam cachets are multi-color engravings and have a rich, distinctive appearance and texture. Early Farnam covers are single color.

Thought bubble...
SCF should put out a CDRom
"the First 10 years of posts of the stamp community family"
I'd happily pay $20 upwards for a copy
great resource.
Would that fit on a CDRom?

Thanks wt1
I saw that, but it didn't register.
I normally do not collect FDC,s,
but I make an exception with Ken Boll and "Cachet Craft"
if I see them cheap at auction.

Thanks for that connection.

Have you ever seen this one before?

I came across the image quite by accident from an eBay listing at this link:
