I know it's not Halloween (when we usually think of it) but a recent UN thread had me looking at the collection and I saw this unusually (for them) cute issue for UNICEF.
So I thought to myself - self? Why not a thread on this topic.
Don't have to be UN, any country will do.

UN SC#161-163 1966 20th anniversary of UNICEF

Unfortunately, the denominations aren't set up so that, side by side, they would complete the train. You think the UN would plan better.

The UNICEF organization has a decade by decade look at all of the stamps, posters, coins, etc., that have been produced through the years at this link:

Well, that takes all the fun out of it!

Anyway, there are only 20 stamps on that site. Surely there MUST be more.

Sorry if I've taken the fun of posting stamps out of it for you.

By the way, there are 20 stamps listed on that website for one decade. There are four other decades of stamps to go through ... and I didn't look too closely, but I don't think they even included United Nations issues!

Here's another piece of trivia. If you scan that web link to the current decade, they posted the US Stamp of Audrey Hepburn, the US stamp issue of which has nothing to do with UNICEF. I had no idea until I looked it up that Audrey Hepburn was the Goodwill Ambassador to UNICEF from 1988 until her death.

See what you can learn by checking out these links!

Don't worry James. Even if you go through each decade at that website, it is pretty obvious that there are other UNICEF stamps missing. I don't collect UNICEF as a topical, but even I noticed missing items. For example, the Guyana 50th anniversary issue is not in there. I'll see if I can fish mine out.

Also, there are plenty of UNICEF philatelic items beyond the simple stamp, such as the FDCs that Tomiseksj showed.

OK, here's Guyana #3027 (2Jan1996) in the Scott catalog. I've got several, and would say the Scott catalog price is more inflated than normal for this issue (my opinion).

No hard feelings wt1 . You were right about Audrey Hepburn. Her work with UNICEF stemmed from her own childhood poverty in Europe after WWII.
The now famous stamp picturing her with a cigarette in her mouth, nixed by her son and estate, were sold off at auction, funds going to her own Audrey Hepburn Children's Fund and UNICEF.

So in a way, it's a UNICEF stamp too.

Children and UNICEF emblem, designed and engraved by Pierre Forget, and issued by Chad on December 11, 1971 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the world organization, Scott No. 240. Note that the originally engraved anniversary date number seems to have been covered over and replaced by an overprinted "25" on this stamp.

22crows - Thanks for sharing that SG information about the Chad UNICEF stamp. Perhaps someone had a brainstorm that it made more sense to commemorate the 25th anniversary than the 24th? - nethryk
