Cambambe Dam, Kwanza-Norte province, completed in 1962, airmail stamp printed by lithogravure, and issued for use in the Portuguese overseas territory of Angola on July 12, 1965, Scott No. C27.

nethryk - Your Czechoslovakia, Scott No. 595, depicts the Slapy dam on the river Vltava, 26 km south of Prague.

florian - Thank you for identifying the Slapy dam on the Czechoslovakia stamp posted above.

In 1964 the first construction stage of the Aswan High Dam and hydroelectric power station on the Nile River was completed and the reservoir began filling; the dam, as Sad al-'Aali, was finally completed on July 21, 1970. Here is an image of a stamp, entitled "Electricity," depicting the Aswan High Dam, a transmission line tower, smokestacks, and an illuminated building, printed by photogravure, and issued by Egypt (United Arab Republic) on July 23, 1964, Scott No. 628, SG No. 812.

The Kariba Dam, opened in 1959, is a hydroelectric dam in the Kariba Gorge of the Zambezi river basin between Zambia and Zimbabwe. It is one of the largest dams in the world, standing 128 m (420 ft) tall and 579 m (1,900 ft) long. Here is an image of a stamp depicting the Kariba Dam, designed by Rhodesian artist and cartoonist Rose Martin, printed by lithogravure, and issued by Rhodesia on February 17, 1970, Scott No. 288, SG No. 447.

Vouglans Dam on the River Ain, Jura, and power transmission towers, designed and engraved by Jacques Combet, and issued by France on February 15, 1969, Scott No. 1233, Y&T No. 1583. This hydroelectric dam was completed in 1968.

Iznájar Dam on the Geníl River, inaugurated in 1969, printed by photogravure, and issued by Spain on June 9, 1973 to publicize the 11th Congress of the International Commission on High Dams, Madrid, June 11-15, Scott No. 1755.

Here is an image of a semi-postal stamp depicting a dam, designed by Kurt Eigler, printed by lithogravure, and issued by (East) Germany (DDR) on August 16, 1954 to benefit flood victims, Scott No. B26, Michel No. 431.
