Here is an image of an airmail stamp depicting a sculpture of Tlaloc, the Aztec god of rain, fertility, and water, and Presidente Plutarco Elías Calles Dam, constructed in 1927-1928, designed by A. Rojas, printed by photogravure, and issued by Mexico on March 29, 1976 to publicize the 12th Congress of the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD), held in Mexico City from March 29 to April 2, 1976, Scott No. C520, plus a photo of Calles Dam taken from a similar angle.

I remember the Good Old Days, when dams were just about unanimously cheered.

The Sansanding Dam, aka Markala Dam, is a dam and bypass bridge located in the city of Markala, Mali. The dam was built for irrigation to grow cotton, rice and sugarcane as part of the Office du Niger project. The Sansanding Dam was completed in 1947, and it is the largest hydraulic structure created by the colonial authorities of French Sudan. Here is an image of a stamp depicting Sansanding Dam, designed by Claude Durrens, printed by photogravure (Delrieu), and issued by Mali on October 27, 1962, Scott No. 38, plus a photo of the structure.

Here are images of the three stamps in a set depicting the Vianden Pumped Storage Plant on the Our River, designed by Luxembourg artist Pe'l Schlechter (1921- ), engraved by René Cottet, and issued by Luxembourg on April 17, 1964 to commemorate the official inauguration of the plant on that date, Scott Nos. 407-09.

Singapore 2012 The Marina Reservoir is formed by a dam called the Marina Barrage that is built downstream of the Singapore River.

Mexico 2012 El Cajón Dam on the Río Grande de Santiago in the Mexican state of Nayarit. Scott 2790a. This stamp is issued as part of a souvenir sheet celebrating 75 Years of Comisión Federal de Electricidad.

Mazvikadei Dam, on the Mukwadzi River, was completed in 1988 and filled for the first time in 1990 to provide water for farm irrigation. Here is an image of a stamp depicting Mazvikadei Dam, printed by lithography, and issued by Zimbabwe on April 9, 1996, Scott No. 756.

Bhakra Dam

Bhakra Dam is a concrete gravity dam across the Sutlej River in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh in northern India. The Bhakra Dam measures 226 m in height, 518 m in length, and 9 m in width. The 90 km long reservoir created by the Bhakra Dam is spread over an area of 168 square kilometers.
The stamp marks the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Bhakra Dam.
