On October 8, 1998 Ireland issued a set of four "Endangered Animals" stamps. One of the stamps (Hib. #C887) depicts the scimitar-horned oryx.

From Wikipedia, "The scimitar-horned oryx (Oryx dammah), also known as the Sahara oryx, is a species of oryx that was once widespread across North Africa. The species went extinct in the wild in 2000, but a group was released in an acclimation enclosure in 2016, then reintroduced into the wild (in Chad)."
