On January 21, 2016, Ireland released 16 new computer-vended "SOAR" (stamps on a roll) stamps from the 8th definitive series "Centenary of the Uprising". One of these stamps features the 2 1/2 year old John Francis Foster.

From stairnaseireann.net website, "John Francis Foster was born in Dublin, and lived with his parents at 18 Manor Place, Stoneybatter. On the 24th April, John Francis Foster was caught in the crossfire whilst his mother Catherine pushed his pram towards the city centre from their home. A gun battle broke out and John was shot outside the Father Matthew Hall on Church Street. He later died in Richmond Hospital, he was ages 2 years and 10 months."

In year 1942, France under Vichy government issued an omnibus set "Pour la Protection l'Enfance Indigène" (For the protection of the Indigenous Children). The omnibus set contains twenty four different sets, each for use in different French colony. In total, there are 59 airmail semi postal stamps, most of them engraved.

Due to political reasons, the stamps were not sent to the colonies during the WWII and were not in use then. Hence, they are not listed in all catalogues but Yvert et Tellier lists them all.

Note: Nethryk already posted in this thread the sets issued for AOF and French Indochina but I will post them again to show all stamps in this series together.

Here are two sets issued for the colonies of French West Africa (AOF) and for Madagascar:

Here are the stamps issued for the colonies of: Cameroun, Oceanic Region, New Caledonia, French Guyana, French Somalia and French India. In all six cases, two identical stamps were issued for each colony (the second is green). Here I show only one from each set:

Note: The stamps of French Guyana were overprinted for use in Inini.
the stamps of New Caledonia were overprinted for use in Wallis and Futuna.
