Norway Troll Field Production June 19, 1996 Troll is a giant natural gas and oil field in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. It holds 40% of Norway's gas reserves and also possesses significant quantities of oil. It is discovered in 1979 and declared commercial in 1983. The Troll A platform depicted in the stamp is the tallest structure (472 meters) ever to be moved.  |
