Here is an image of a stamp featuring a portrait of Italian-French explorer Pierre Paul François Camille Savorgnan de Brazza (1852-1905), designed and engraved by Claude Hertenberger (1912-2002), and issued for use in French Equatorial Africa on November 5, 1951 to commemorate Brazza's birth centenary, Scott No. 185, plus an image of a photo of Pierre Savorgnan de Brazza by the French photographer Nadar (1820-1910).

Prosper Philippe Augouard, C.S.Sp. (1852-1921) was a French Roman Catholic priest, a missionary and an explorer of the Congo and Ubangi Rivers, for which he was awarded a prize from the Paris Geographical Society. Here is an image of an airmail stamp depicting Monsignor Augouard and a church, designed and engraved by Raoul Serres (1881-1971), and issued for use in French Equatorial Africa on December 1, 1952 to commemorate the missionary-explorer's birth centenary, Scott No. C36, plus an image of a photograph of Prosper Philippe Augouard.

Paul de Martin de Viviès (1908-1971) was a French explorer and meteorologist. The Martin-de-Viviès permanent meteorological base on Île Amsterdam is named after him. Here is an image of a stamp featuring a portrait of the explorer, designed and engraved by Pierre Béquet, and issued for use in French Southern and Antarctic Territories on January 3, 1983, Scott No. 100, plus a photo of the Martin-de-Viviès base.

Here is an image of a stamp honoring Norwegian explorer and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Fridtjof Nansen (1861-1930), designed by Russian artist Vasili Vasilievich Zavialov (1906-1972), printed by photogravure, and issued by Russia (USSR) on December 30, 1961 to commemorate the explorer's birth centenary, Scott No. 2557, Zagorski No. 2566, plus a YouTube link to a short video tribute to Fridtjof Nansen. Pedro Álvares Cabral (c. 1467 - c. 1520) was a Portuguese nobleman, military commander, navigator and explorer regarded as the discoverer of Brazil. Here is an image of a stamp featuring a portrait of Cabral, designed by Portuguese artist Jaime Martins Barata (1899-1970). engraved by British engraver Robert George Godbehear, printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co., Ltd., and issued by Portugal on July 29, 1945 as on of a set of eight stamps honoring Portuguese navigators, Scott No. 646, plus an image of a lithograph portrait of Pedro Álvares Cabral.

Alois Musil (1868-1944) was a Czech explorer, theologist, orientalist, and writer who traveled extensively in the Middle East. Here is a image of a stamp honoring Musil, designed by Czech painter Vladimír Novák (1947- ), combined engraved by Miloš Ondrácek (1936- ) and photogravure, and issued by Czech Republic on June 18, 2008, plus an image of a 1901 photograph of Alois Musil attired in Arab dress. Bonus: Camels.

Jean Laborde (1805-1878) was a French explorer, adventurer and early industrialist in Madagascar. Here is an image of a stamp featuring a portrait of Laborde, and depicting the Rova of Antananarivo (the royal palace complex), engraved by French engraver Antonin Delzers (1873-1943), and issued for use in Madagascar (Malagasy) on December 4, 1939 as one of a set of eleven similar stamps commemorating the 60th anniversary of the explorer's death, Scott No. 203, plus an image of a photograph of Jean Laborde.

Here is an image of a stamp featuring a portrait of Spanish navigator, explorer and naval officer Esteban José Martínez (1742-1798), a key figure in the Spanish exploration of the Pacific Northwest, printed by photogravure, and issued by Spain on October 12, 1967, Scott No. 1493, plus an image of a painted portrait of Esteban José Martínez ih his Spanish Royal Navy uniform, c. 1785, which was surely the model for this stamp's design.

Happy Birthday to Greenlandic/Danish polar explorer and anthropologist Knud Rasmussen (1879-1933). Here is an image of a semi-postal (charity) stamp depicting Rasmussen taking notes whilst conversing with an Inuit couple, designed by Jens Christian Rosing (1925-2008), engraved by Arne Kühlmann (1939- ), and issued by Greenland on June 7, 1979 to commemorate the explorer's birth centenary, Scott No. B8, Facit No. 116, plus an image of a photograph of Knud Rasmussen surrounded by Inuits. Bonus: Signature.

Antonio Pigafetta (c. 1491- c. 1531) was a Venetian scholar and explorer who served as Ferdinand Magellan's assistant and who kept a journal during the first circumnavigation of the world. Here is an image of a stamp depicting Antonio Pigafetta and a caravel, designed by Luca Vangelli, printed by lithography, and issued by Italy on April 28, 1980, Scott No. 1395, plus an image of a page from Pigafetta's Magellan journal, published in Paris in 1525.

Zheng He (1371- c. 1433) was a Hui court eunuch, mariner, explorer, diplomat, and fleet admiral during China's early Ming dynasty who commanded expeditionary voyages to Southeast Asia, South Asia, Western Asia, and East Africa from 1405 to 1433. Here are images of the four stamps in a set (respectively, a portrait of Zheng He; acting as peace envoy; promoting trade and cultural exchange; and honored for his navigational feats), printed by photogravure, and issued by China (PRC) on July 11, 1985 to commemorate the 580th anniversary of Zheng He's sea expeditions, Scott Nos. 1992-95.

João Gonçalves Zarco (c. 1390-1471) was a Portuguese explorer who established settlements and recognition of the Madeira Islands, and was appointed first captain of Funchal by Henry the Navigator. Here is an image of a stamp featuring a portrait of Zarco, designed by Portuguese artist Jaime Martins Barata (1899-1970), engraved by British engraver Edward T. Dawson, printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co., Ltd., and issued by Portugal on July 29, 1945 as one of a set of eight stamps honoring Portuguese navigators, Scott No. 643, plus an image of a monument to João Gonçalves Zarco in the Madeiran capital of Funchal.

Here is an image of a stamp featuring a portrait of Portuguese explorer and Brazil colonist Captain Baltasar Fernandes (c.1580 - c. 1667), the founder of Sorocaba in 1654, printed by photogravure, and issued by Brazil on August 15, 1954 to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the city's founding, Scott No. 803, plus a photo of the statue of Baltasar Fernandes atop his monument in Sorocaba.
