On September 26, 1990 Uruguay issued a set of four 70 new pesos stamps commemorating 'Cultural Media'. The stamps were printed as a se-tenant block of 4 different designs (2 x 2) in a sheet of 16 stamps, with gutters separating the blocks. The lower left stamp (Sc #1352c) of this block depicts a stylized television camera. |

Here is a 2021 issue from France, Y&T #5491 depicting Henriette Theodora Markovitch (1907 – 1997), better known by her pseudonym of Dora Maar. Perhaps best known as subject of several of Pablo Picasso's paintings, she was a remarkable art photographer in her own right with publications and exhibitions well before she met him. Identified with the surrealists, she and Brassai shared a studio for a time and she taught Picasso some photography and cliche verre. So I include her here as a prominent photographer. Issued in a sheetlet of 9 with illustrated selvage, some of which is on my example here. Sorry I do not have a Scott no. |

An issue from Namibia, 2003 Sc. 1012 I believe. One of four rural development stamps each of which were various rates. This one clearly indicated for postcards shows a map of natural preserves, wildlife and a photographer taking a photo with an SLR. |

Uruguay issued the following in 2020 to commemorate the 180th anniversary of the first photograph - a daguerrotype - taken in Uruguay. The selvage shows a stylized aperture and off on the right a representation of the early camera used. 30 years back in 1990 they issued Sc. 1388 to celebrate the 150th anniversary, showing the same historic first photo of the church in Montevideo. That one is already posted at the top of page 8 of this thread. |

A 2021 issue from Israel. Part of a three stamp group depicting "nostalgic" trades. So there are a Milkman, an Iceman, and of immediate interest to this thread, a Photographer. I bet this is news to a number of photographers still practicing today.... Reminds me of the set of stamps issued by Chile in 1985-87 of "bygone professions" which included a photographer and which Rigel first posted on p.7 of this thread. The full batch of overprints are on p. 8 together with a later Chilean reprise of traditional street vendors. So here is the Israel entry into nostalgic, bygone professions. Scott 2285a. |

Here are two stamps from Belgium, issued 9 May 2009, one of which depicts a male and the other a female photographer on vacation taking a snapshot with a camera. Her's may be an SLR, his looks smaller. Sc. 2369 and 2370 are in a se tenant tęte beche pair. I've scanned my two examples so one of each stamp is right side up for y'all and to show the variation in selvage. |
