A Spanish American patriotic advertising cover. Unusual in that the advertising is within the flag design.

A recent addition with a hand stamped? corner card, a RPO cancel, and a worn company dater on the reverse.
The center of the dater is allowing parts of the previous day and the following day to print.
I'll crop the dater for a close-up view. Lets me see the very slight difference between 3 and 8. The 1883 makes this an early strike of the Dunc. Mills & San F. AGT marking.

Another favorite advertising cover in my collection. The ugly chicken is great, but the cover is also first day of the new 2 cent rate.

We do raise chickens on our farm, so we have a few poultry ad covers that reflect that interest.

As a citizen of the United States, I might think about the US Consul in foreign cities - a person or place to whom I could go if I were traveling to find support if I needed it. I think we tend to forget that there could be consulates for other countries in the major cities of the United States as well. C.F. Adae served in this position for several German States from his office in Cincinnati.

Not very pretty and not really an advertising cover but a wrapper with an advertising label. C.N Caspar was a well known bookseller, map maker and dealer in German publications.
