Cave Bear (Ursus spelaeus) was a species of bear that lived in Europe during the Pleistocene and became extinct about 24000 years ago during the Last Glacial Maximum. The fossils of this species were mostly found in caves. Cave bear and brown bear may have a common ancestor.

Misha, aka Mishka, designed by children's books illustrator Victor Chizhikov, was the Russian Bear mascot of the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games. Here is an image of a stamp depicting Misha holding a Santa Claus stamp, designed by T. Panchenko, printed by photogravure, and issued by Russia (USSR) on November 28, 1979 for New Year 1980, Scott No. 4792, Zagorski No. 4948.
