Terry,
Which versions of Excel and Publisher do you have on the Mac? Some older versions (pre-2011?) don't support macros, so they're a definite no-go. I don't have a Mac available to test these on, but you can certainly give it a try. |

Running v1.2, and looking very good.
So next, we will be able to load borders of our own design, right? |

Publisher is not available for the Mac.
Publisher question for any MS Publisher gurus. Can you distribute items with a fixed space between them instead of just based on margins. Mean, can I distribute 3 items that are spaced 6mm apart from each other? |

apastuszak,
I don't know if there's a built in function for that. I believe the only built-in functions are to distribute evenly between the margin guides or between the outer borders of the selected objects.
Theoretically, you could add the total width of the objects + 6mm of spacing per pair, then set drawing guides on the outer limits to ensure you get the two outer objects in the correct place, then distribute evenly between the outer objects.
I can whip up an additional add-in that allows you to do what you're wanting to do with the click of a menu button. Do you want to set the overall width for the 3 (for example) objects and distribute evenly within that, or do you want to set the interior spacing and let the overall width fall where it may? |

barhata,
Borders of your own design may be a little beyond the scope of this project. If everyone used a standard page size it would be easy, but accounting for different page sizes introduces too many variables. I plan on giving adding the ability to use the borders and border styles that are built into Publisher. |

There is no need to code anything. I was just curious if it was supported in the GUI for me to manually do it. I couldn't find the option anywhere in the ribbon. |

Version 1.3 is available. Change log for v1.3: 1. Added ability to generate single- or double-lined page border 2. Fixed spacing error in double-lined frame which allowed larger-width frames to overlap outer and inner 3. Fixed grouping error when generating a single frame with no other object 4. Fixed occasional import error caused by incorrect line count in default file 5. Changed Excel file from a template to a normal file to resolve export problem 6. Fixed issue with digital certificates in Excel file |

apastuszak,
I have the code which would allow you to distribute with a set amount of space between the boxes. If you'd like it, just shoot me an e-mail. |

When I right-click on "Version 1.3" and select Save Target As, I get a message that the file cannot be downloaded. Would you be able to email me a copy?
Thanks, Terry |

Hello, I would like some advice on using Album Page Generator 1.5.5. I watched the tutorial video on youtube and was impressed with the versatility of the program. Downloaded the program but the zip file for the spreadsheet was Excel and not Libreoffice. Excel file did not have any macros to import into Scribus (1.5.8). Am I missing something? I would like to follow the tutorial, but I'm at an impasse. Kind regards, Tom (seafarer)

Tom,
The spreadsheet file is an .ods file, which is a LibreOffice spreadsheet. You likely have Excel installed and set as the default for that file type, so it's opening in Excel instead of LibreOffice.
First, make sure you have LibreOffice installed. Then, right click on the file and select Open With, then LibreOffice. Or open LibreOffice first, then use its File/Open menu to open the file. |
