Interesting topical; but I notice a few of these chickens are pheasants.
Not that I'm complaining; interesting to look at.

I find this WWI-era advert interesting...



The US Chicken Stamp (posted on page 1 of this thread by JamesW) is often called ugly or useless, but I think at the time the poultry industry was quite important to the economy.

Uncle Sugar always gets his due!!

A rooster and clover are appropriately featured on these 1923 municipal revenue stamps (visitors' tax) from Hahnenklee (Braunschweig), Germany. Hahnenklee = Chicken clover.

In January 1923, the hyperinflation was really heating up, so 100 or 200 marks was not a great deal of money.
