On October 3, 1967 Germany issued a set of four semi-postal charity stamps featuring scenes from the Brothers Grimm fairytale Frau Holle. The two high values (Mi #s 540-1) of this set, shown here, feature a rooster.

From wikipedia, "The tale was published by the Brothers Grimm in the first edition of Kinder- und Hausmaerchen Eng.: Children's and House Fairytales, published in 1812...Some details were added in the second edition (1819), most notably rooster's greetings."
