That looks to be an indicium cut off of a Registered envelope. Traditional catalogues won't list this, either as a complete envelope, or as a cut square.
Generally speaking, there is not a big market for cut squares. |

Hi, Anybody having a clue why this half penny stamp has the same colour as the one farthing stamp? Can not find this listed in my SG commonwealth catalogue. (Wm CC - thin paper). See photo. Thanks:) |

Regarding the two questions in this set of posts. The first one shown is a cut square from a Registered Postal Stationery envelope. It is of minimal value because it is not complete. If it were still part of the envelope it would be worth about $10-$20. The second set of 1/4d values appears to have the color changed. Here is a link to a web page I have created showing the set if you want to see it: http://www.kgvistamps.com/articles/...ntenary.html |

Here's something: Found this one inside the binding of my old Harris Citation while taking it apart: Would you call this an imperf #8 in terrible shape or an outright space-filler for either #19 or #20? I don't see any discernable watermarks so probably not chop-ups of the later vermilions. ( asking for a friend...) Thanks! Al |

I'd say the perforations have been trimmed off this one.
They're such an interesting stamp the Britannias. |

Nice find!
Have you tested for Watermark?
Curiously, I cannot find Barbados in Billigs. Stanley does not offer any assistance with Pmks It suggests "Crowned-Circled handsatamps" CC1 and CC 1 but no images.
Any members have any links to Pmks of Barbados?
On the negative, if vandalism, it would seem the perpetrator would be insinuating a Stanley #11 1858 £110 rather than Stanley #29 perf 14-16 1861 at £11

For those that might not know, British West Indies Study Circle just merged with British Caribbean Philatelic Study Group. The combined group is now known as West Indies Philatelic Study Group. Hopefully, it is well positioned for the next generation. The new website is found at https://wipsg.org/If you have a passing interest in this material, you'll find lots of interesting information with them. disclosure: I'm a member but have no financial interest; to the contrary, I should hope for fewer bidders in the auctions. |

I think I see two obvious unpunched perf dents on the back view plus traces of perf holes to their right. Therefore, rough perf and not pin perf originally. |

Thanks for all the help folks! - I was away from the PC and just saw these. Those "Bootheels" are interesting! I only have three on Britannias and a couple on Queen Victoria's from 1882-85. Thanks again, Al |
