OK, we have threads for stamps-on-stamps, mailboxes, and mailmen. The stamps below make me think maybe, just maybe, we now need a thread for ENVELOPES ON STAMPS!

I'd venture to guess that a lot of US collectors forgot about this odd value stamp that fits this thread perfectly!

It sure was ... although the 21.1 cents met the rate for those mass mailers using the ZIP+4 extended ZIP Codes they recently came out with at the time. Lookup Scott #2150, issued 10/22/1985. According to the link below it was the first US multicolor gravure coil stamp.

I agree the stamp is quite odd looking by today's standards and I don't think it saw all that much use back in the day.

I figure some folks may also be picky, and feel envelopes without stamps dont' belong in the stamp-on-stamp thread!

Also don't forget the 1973 US Postal People Issue. Although several stamps in that set feature envelopes to various degrees, I suspect one could argue that this stamp features more envelopes on it than any other stamp ever issued!
