Though I am not a topical collector, I love the seeing older stamps on topic. On modern issues, I am sure that there is a ton of any topic you choose, but on the older stamps, it would seem that it is a little more difficult to find a particular topic. |

A love letter for Valentine's Day perhaps?  Here is an image of a semi-postal (charity) stamp depicting an ornamental shield and an envelope, designed by Austrian artist Wilhelm Dachauer (1881-1951), engraved by Georg Wimmer, and issued by Austria on December 1, 1956 for Stamp Day, Scott No. B297. Note: This stamp design must have been sitting in a drawer for quite awhile! - nethryk  |
