Special Delivery
The 1954 20-cent Hand-to-Hand stamp used the striking image of the special delivery carrier hand-delivering a letter to a customer. The design was used again in 1957 on the 30-cent denomination stamp.

In honor of the Penny Black, a bundle of envelopes on the newest Swiss stamp. (Is this then a stamp on an envelope on a stamp?)

KuoL, those US special deliveries are kind of special because the envelope carries the stamp itself - does that continue down to a pixl?

Kris Rascher:
Yes the Hand-to-Hand special delivery issue was the first U.S. stamp to feature itself in its design. The other cancelled stamp on the envelope is the 3-cent Statue of Liberty, which is part of the Liberty Issue released a few months earlier. The address on the envelope "1954 Liberty St." also corresponds to these two stamps. Here is a high-resolution image for your inspection.

Hi, KuoL, Thanks for the extra scan, mine can't quite come up to that, but here is another one of those stamps featuring itself. This time the message is being carried to the Bern Switzerland home of the monument to the UPU by a beautiful South American Trogon viridis.

And perhaps Nethryk's bird is a stylized streamer-tailed tyrant bird, it sure isn't a pigeon anyway. K.

In the case of this 1995 Indonesian mailbird, I am guessing it's a young chicken; any other suggestions? At any rate, it's wearing a cute blue cap.
